Dept of Midwifery Core Faculty - Assistant Professor + Program Director - Hybrid/Remote Position
The Department of Midwifery and Maternal Health is seeking an Assistant Professor and Program Director at the Bastyr University Kenmore campus, 15 miles north of Seattle.
The Department of Midwifery is a leader in educating community childbirth professionals. We offer two master’s degree programs: MS in Midwifery and MA in Maternal-Child Health Systems. We are seeking the right person with knowledge, skills and experience in both realms to build further flexibility on our team to cross-teach in both programs. Courses in these programs are taught in a hybrid format, with some of the material taught online and some of it facilitated in a synchronous format face-to-face at the Kenmore Campus. Air travel to campus is compensated.

Qualifications:
- Graduate degree in a maternal-child health (MCH)-related field, minimally Master’s degree, preferably a doctorate.
- Three to five years’ clinical experience in MCH-related field, preferably maternity care/midwifery.
- Teaching experience, preferably graduate-level courses in Midwifery and in MCH areas such as health policy, organizational management, adult education, professional issues, research methods, social determinants of health and illness, global health and social justice issues in MCH.
- Online and hybrid teaching experience required.
- Research experience preferred.
- Mentoring experience with students with graduate projects.
- Excellent communication skills – writing, speaking, listening.
