Research & Data Collection
Research and Data
AABC has a long history of collecting data, evaluating the birth center model and conducting research on birth centers and the care they give. From early studies of birth center care to the most recent National Birth Center Study II and Strong Start for Mothers and Newborns Initiative, we have sought data to allow us to describe our care and evaluate what we are doing. Those activities continue with the AABC Perinatal Data Registry.
These data collection and research activities are critical to give childbearing families, birth center providers, advocates and policy makers with the knowledge they need to inform their decisions. Come and learn more about AABC data collection and birth center research.
