Webinar Wednesday - Improving Communication During Labor and Birth
Join us on March 23rd at 1:00PM ET
Attend the March Webinar Wednesday to learn about TeamBirth, an innovative program to improve safety and dignity in childbirth through enhanced communication.
During TeamBirth huddles, all members of the team are named beginning with the birthing person in labor and including, at a minimum, their birth attendants. The purpose of this step is to promote “psychological safety” by giving every member of the team permission and opportunity to share concerns. For every care decision, the birthing person is asked about their preferences, the full care team reviews the plan of care together, and the team makes a commitment as to when they will communicate again.
The presentation will discuss potential for birth centers, and will include how an alongside midwifery unit is implementing the program.
Webinar Wednesday is a free benefit of AABC membership. Guests may attend for a fee. Registration is required.
Spring is in the Air!
Spring is almost here and that means it is time for the AABCF Spring It On! Challenge. Join the AABC Foundation for a 30 day virtual marathon in the Grand Canyon as we fundraise to advance the birth center model and improve maternity care in the U.S.
Now in its 5th year, the Spring It On! AABCF Challenge runs April 1-30. Participants from all over the U.S. can exercise at home and log their time online to see their virtual progress on the race map. This year our route will take us rim to rim through the breathtaking Grand Canyon. This is a fun, community-strengthening fundraising event.
We hope you will join Team AABC on the trail!
