Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Training led by EnterChange consultants Sarah Hansen and Amanda Neatrour, this training introduces the concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion, providing definitions of each, as well as how they relate to equality, ethics, and social justice. It will emphasize how applying DEI principles will support AABC’s mission and vision. Participants learn about why DEI matters, particularly in workforce and service-based contexts. It will also introduce participants to concepts of intersectionality, the cycle of socialization, power and privilege, and implicit bias.
AABC’s How to Start a Birth Center course provide you with everything you need to consider when starting an evidence-based practice in the wellness model of care.
Taught by leaders in the birth center industry, the AABC How to Start a Birth Center workshops are interactive and informative. They address the many issues you need to consider when exploring the development of a birth center including: birth center operations, financial management, budgeting, community assessment, marketing, and next steps.
AABC offers webinars on-demand on timely topics, the business of birth centers and clinical issues.
The AABC Community Birth Assistant Training program establishes a standard for quality birth assistants. Available for individual learners, and Training in a Box for birth centers.
Successful completion of the course ensures employers and birth center clients that the birth assistant has ample knowledge and training to assist with labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period. It is comprehensive and robust, consisting of modules of presented content, demonstration videos, HIPAA and OSHA compliance training, and an in-person skills assessment.
The AABC Birth Center Onboading Training is an interactive, self-paced online training for providers, clinical support staff, and administrative staff. Available in convenient and discounted packages or a la carte, the modules include training on HIPAA, infection control, medications, transfer protocols, and the birth center laboratory - all specific to the midwifery model of care in birth centers.
