Tacoma, Washington - Certified Nurse Midwives (staff and per diem)
The Birthing Inn is Puget Sound’s premiere freestanding and independent birth center. Since opening our doors in 1999, The Birthing Inn has welcomed almost 3,500 beautiful new babies into warm, cozy, and peaceful surroundings.
We are looking for dedicated and autonomous Certified Nurse Midwives (both staff and per diem opportunities) who are eager to expand their skills while providing outpatient and birth center services. The midwives are backed up by supportive physicians on staff at the two major hospitals in Tacoma. Support for the midwives who wish to gain hospital privileges in order to follow their clients requiring hospital transfer is available but not required. You will have an important influence shaping the out of hospital birth experience for birthing people in the South Sound region.

JOB DESCRIPTION
- Midwife (CNM; both staff and per diem opportunities)
- 0.5-1.0 FTE position
- Mix of Clinic and Call shifts; Call is from home
- Providing prenatal and postpartum care for pregnant women
- Tending to moms and newborns during labor and delivery
- Educating moms on parenting and family planning
- Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and referring patients to specialists when necessary
REQUIREMENTS
- Active, unrestricted CNM medical license & DEA to work in Washington State
- At least 2 year independent L&D experience
- CPR, NRP, and NARM Certificates
- Must meet credentialing requirements established for Midwife role.
COMPENSATION
- Salary Range: Full-time $110-130K + Productivity Bonus depending on experience and schedule
- Paid holidays, paid time off
- Continuing education and professional dues reimbursed
