PRACTICE: Andaluz Waterbirth Center is a free-standing birth center in a renovated historical colonial building. Our birth center has four beautiful birthing suites with queen sized beds and state of the art birth pools, two consultation rooms, a large classroom, a living room, and a gorgeous full-size kitchen.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The certified nurse midwife (CNM) is an advanced practice nurse who is responsible for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of nurse midwifery care delivered to antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn clients, as well as providing preventive care, reproductive care, and gynecological care. The CNM performs physical exams; collects and documents data; facilitates physiological labor, birth and emergency management; conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations; and prescribes appropriate interventions and medications.
QUALIFICATIONS: ● Graduate from approved and accredited Nurse Midwifery program ● Certified as a Nurse Midwife by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) ● Licensed to practice in Oregon and able to commute to Portland ● Aligned with out of hospital birth and midwifery-led care ● Current NRP & BLS certifications ● New graduates with interest in community birth encouraged to apply!
SCHEDULE: Clinic duties 10am-6pm two days per week, with rotating on-call periods shared between the midwifery team. Must be willing to be on-call every third weekend, and shared call over major holidays. This is a salaried position with health insurance benefits and PTO.
